About Us

Riding along as an eight-year-old boy in the back of his dad’s can truck between dairies is Todd Thornley’s earliest memory of the family’s milk route business. His dad George was the first independent hauler for Gossner Cheese. Todd continued to be a hands-on learner over the next eight years hooking hoses, measuring milk levels, sampling product and cleaning equipment until he passed his driving test during his junior year in high school to take over part of the route.

DairyWay Transport, Inc. was formed when George retired in 1989 and sold Todd half of the business, which involved hauling 70,000 pounds of milk per day from Gossner producers. Over the next two decades, Todd watched for and took advantage of opportunities to grow and serve the transportation needs of the food industry. To improve services within the transportation industry, he worked on advisory boards for Workers Compensation Fund of Utah and Bridgerland Technical College’s CDL program. “In recognition of outstanding professional achievement, superior leadership ability and exception service to the community,” Todd was recognized as one of the Outstanding Young Americans in 1996.

Today DairyWay Transport, Inc. has grown regionally to haul over 2.5 million pounds of product per day to and from food manufacturing plants throughout Utah and Idaho. Customers include food-grade processors and others that are trying to sustainably control their waste streams. The company’s motto of All In! requires managers, dispatchers and drivers to demonstrate the level of commitment that has driven the company to the point it is today and into the future.
